Pros: The food was delicious! The service we received by our waitress (Adrianna) was exceptional! Lots of "specials"!
Cons: The decor is TACKY! If I had to score it, it would get a 0/10. It's outdated and targets the older crowd (which is the primary clientele, so maybe that's why it's not an issue) and isn't appealing.
We came on a Sunday morning after 10am. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess looked a little frazzled as the restaurant did seem pretty full. Once we sat throughout our entire stay we had plenty of bussers and servers stop and clear our plates or check on us and I have to stay it was awesome. We had bottomless mimosas and our glass never ran dry! The fresh squeezed orange juice they give in the ramaken is perfect! I got the chille verde and my partner got the steak and eggs. I swiped a few bites of the steak (ordered medium) and it was perfectly cooked and well seasoned! It was soo good! I was honestly put off that my chille verde wasn't the green shade I'm used to, but it was delicious. The flavor was all there! The potatoes weren't anything to remember but nothing to complain about, maybe they needed a bit of salt for my pallet. All in all if you're looking for a place with great service and staff, I give it to this place! -

We love Hill Street Cafe. Hugo and Abel are the best chefs. Servers Jose, Alberto, Maureen, Lulu, and Perla are terrific.
Service is fast and expedient especially under friendly new owners Tony and Mary.
Good prices and the dishes usually taste quite good.
Keep up the good team work please. -

Another delicious breakfast here. Comfy surroundings, nice and helpful staff, with lots of good coffee to get the morning started.
And not too fancy, just the basics, eggs over-easy, hash browns, crispy bacon, tortillas, did I say lots of coffee?
Thanks to Maureen and staff for keeping us all happy and well fed. -

My steak was tougher than leather and the guacamole was brown and flavorless. I had a really nice server, but the rest of the staff was rude and gossiped with other customers about me and those at my table. I don't think I have ever been so poorly treated at a restaurant and can't believe that anyone would come here with any sort of regularity.

Ola .....
Been there a few times ...... and the food is pretty good and the service is pretty good ......
A little dark inside ... maybe a little more sunshine through blinds/windows
The only problem I had is with what the server was wearing .... nothing too bad , but could have been a better something ....
Attached is a picture of the waitress and her blouse and under .....
I would say it is better to have a darker colored shirt or blouse as to not show her black bra underneath so easily ....
That's it Of course service could improve and food selection as well .. prices are very good
Overall 3 ***
Some guy sent me a message here on Yelp, Pico F. , someone I don't know , and insulting me about my review here about a family sit down restaurant and the asian filipino woman waitress black bra being seen through her blouse or shirt as the waitresses ...... I guess because apparently he doesn't know the difference of a family restaurant appropriate dress standard for there .....and some work-on-the-corner-woman on a Friday night in Oxnard on Oxnard Blvd ....... He probably has a girlfriend that wears see-through blouses or shirts on an everyday basis ....... So he can't understand the difference between "hoe" dressing and modest dressing .....No I suppose not.
Go insult someone else dumbsh** Pico trash in your head!
